President Obama at House of Blues

With only one week’s notice, the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles was asked to perform at the President’s fundraising swing through the Los Angeles area on September 26, 2011. 60 members of the chorus performed two numbers to a crowd of over 1,000 who had each paid a minimum of $250 to hear President Obama. Jesse Tyler Ferguson (‘Modern Family’) was the Emcee for the evening, with additional entertainment provided by Rapper B.o.B.

President Obama spoke passionately about the need to pass his Jobs Bill – and cautioned the audience that the election in 2012 would require a different energy than 2008’s campaign.

It was a real honor to be the official photographer for GMCLA for this event, and I found myself welcome and accepted amongst the White House Press Pool!
